Dr. Jorge Eduardo Mendoza had an exciting childhood, growing up in Mexico City and moving to Garden City, Kansas at the age of 11 years old. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Kansas State University and completed a post baccalaureate in Microbiology at the University of Rochester in New York. He then received a master's in Wildlife at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, working with two-toed and three-toed sloths.
